How to Order Custom Work Uniforms in Bulk: Sizing, Embroidery, Lead Times and Reorders

Ordering work uniforms for a team of twenty is a different job from buying one polo online. The buyer has to think about sizes across a crew, embroidery that survives industrial washing, delivery before a start date, and reorders when staff change. This guide walks through how we handle it at Zees Commerce for logistics firms, contractors, hospitality groups, clinics and schools.

1. Choose the garment by the job, not the catalogue

  • Warehouse and trades: twill work shirts, hi-vis polos with reflective tape, softshell jackets for yards.
  • Front of house and offices: pique or performance polos, slim fit shirts, quarter-zip knitwear.
  • Kitchens: double-breasted chef jackets with mesh back vents.
  • Clinics and care: V-neck or jogger scrubs in four-way stretch, lab coats.
  • Schools: V-neck sweaters with tipping in house colours, polos, PE kit.

Browse the uniforms and workwear range for the base styles.

2. Minimums and mixed sizes

Our minimum is 10 pieces per design, with mixed sizes inside those 10. A 40-person company with three roles is usually three designs, not forty. Keep the logo, colour and garment the same across a role and you stay at one price tier.

3. Sizing a crew without guessing

Ask for a size set before the bulk run: one of each size in the chosen garment, shipped in about 5 days. Staff try them on, you return a size list, and the bulk order is cut to it. This removes almost all post-delivery size swaps, which are the most common problem in uniform programs.

4. Decoration that lasts

Embroidery is the default for workwear: it survives hundreds of industrial washes and reads as premium. Reflective tape and heat transfer are used for hi-vis and safety marks. Screen printing suits large back prints on tees. We digitise your logo once and reuse it on every reorder.

5. Timeline

Mock-up in 1 to 3 days, size set or sample made in 5 days, bulk production 15–30 days after approval depending on quantity, then 3 to 6 days by courier to the US, UK, EU or Australia. Plan six to eight weeks from first enquiry to uniforms on staff for a first order; reorders are faster because artwork and sizes are on file.

6. Reorders and staff turnover

We keep your artwork, Pantone references and size history. Top-up runs of 10 pieces are normal and cost the same per piece as the original tier, so replacing three leavers does not mean a new full order.

7. Payment and terms

50% deposit on order, 50% before dispatch. Bank transfer, ACH, PayPal, card or letter of credit. Defects or mismatches against the approved sample are remade or credited when reported within 7 days. Full details are in our terms and returns policy.
